What does Vm3 Purefier look like?
Vm3 Purefier is currently available in three forms:
- a pad;
- bulk powder; or
- an air filter
The pads and filters may be presented as individual units (80x100mm); or as mats of multiple units (maximum width of 600mm in gradations of 100mm and lengths which increase in 80mm sections).
Single pads and filters are generally used for small applications such as domestic household bins and sanitary bins or personal air conditioners or fans, refrigerators. Larger units are used for applications such as industrial bins and room odour control, motor vehicles, caravans, flooded houses, etc.
Pads usually have a porous filter paper front and plastic backing. Filters have two paper sides to allow air flow through the filter.
Bulk powder is supplied in containers of varying sizes from 200 grams to 10 kilograms.
Where can Vm3 Purefier be Used?
Vm3 Purefier products can be used in almost any situation where malodour moisture and volatiles are present.
How do I apply the pads and filters?
Vm3 Purefier pads should where possible be applied horizontally to the source of the malodour with the paper side facing down. This allows maximum exposure of the contents of the pad to the air to bind and release moisture. The pad must always be applied in a position above the source of the odour.
Vm3 Purefier pads are usually supplied with a removable adhesive backing. The backing tape is removed and the pad is stuck onto the underside of the horizontal surface above the source of the malodour.
For situations where the use of adhesive tape is not appropriate, pad mounting units are available. Pads are placed in these units are with the paper side facing downwards. These come in three versions:
- Ceiling mount with lockable doors for use in public places.
- Ceiling mount with no door
- Wall mount
For use in air filtration the filter should be placed vertically across the air flow or vertically on the side of a pipe. For the product to be effective in this application, the air flow must be disrupted across the surface of the pads using baffles or air conditioning type filters. Specific formulas are used in air filtration application, so not all filters will be effective in all applications.
How often do I need to replace the pad or filter?
These devices work for extended periods and can be effective for weeks depending on the situation, load, temperature and its daily variation and humidity.
Standard pads and filters are effective across many situations but the degree of effectiveness and lifespan is determined by the factors outlined above. For example, in applications where the amount of “malodour load” on the pad or filter is very high, such as public hotel toilets, the pads will usually last for up to a week. Where the load is low, the pads and filters may last for a month or more. In circumstances of extremely heavy “malodour load” a stronger pad or filter can be necessary. Pads and filters can be manufactured to suit individual “problem” situations.
